VIDEO: Rihanna talks Chris Brown with Oprah

The new episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter” sees the talk show icon sitting down with Rihanna on her home island of Barbados.

The latest previews offer a hint of the topics the two discuss, including the pop singer’s former relationship with Chris Brown, which ended abruptly following Brown’s assault on her on the eve of the 2009 Grammy Awards. The incident left Rihanna with a black eye and a swollen lip.

“It was embarrassing,” says Rihanna. “It was humiliating. I lost my best friend. I was resentful. I held a grudge. I was dark.”

The two reconnected recently to perform on remixes of each other’s singles: her “Birthday Cake” and his “Turn Up The Music.”

Oprah’s Next Chapter featuring Rihanna will air Sunday, August 19 at 9/8c on OWN.

David Guetta has released the video for his latest single, “I Can Only Imagine.”

The track, from Guetta’s 2011 release, “Nothing But The Beat,” features both Chris Brown and Lil’ Wayne.

The new clip is directed by David Tilley.

“This video is based on really strong images, more than storytelling like my last video, ‘Turn Me On’ was,” says Guetta. “This one is more like crazy, super strong images, and futuristic images - that’s new to me so I’m really excited.”

Rihanna is featured on the cover of the Elle magazine, on newsstands April 17.

The pop superstar is also spotlighted in the May issue with a fashion shoot and interview, during which she talks about finding her way back to her ex Chris Brown, in a professional sense.

“It gave me guns. I was like, well, f—,” explains Rihanna. “They know more about me than I want them to know. It’s embarrassing. But that was my opening. That was my liberation, my moment of bring it. […] Now you know that, so you can say what you want about it. I don’t have anything to hide.”

The Rihanna-Brown reunion – on singles by each artist - made headlines and received some harsh criticism, given their controversial past.

“The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently,” said Rihanna. “It’s very hard for me to accept, but I get it. People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right. Because tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do.”

AUDIO: Rihanna talks about working with Chris Brown

Rihanna makes headlines all the time, but her recent reunion with former boyfriend Chris Brown – on record, at least – really stirred up some reactions from fans and the general public.

Given Brown’s past physical abuse of the pop superstar, a lot of people couldn’t make sense that Rihanna would give Chris the time of day, but she tells Ryan Seacrest that she was the one who initiated his participation on her “Birthday Cake” remix …prior to her singing on his “Turn Up The Music” remix .

“I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake’ because that’s the only person that really – it made sense to do the record, just as a musician,” explained Rihanna. “Despite everything else, that was going to be the person. I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track, and then in turn he was like, ‘Why don’t you do the remix to my track?’ and it was a trade off. We did two records. One for my fans. One for his fans, and that way our fans can come together. There shouldn’t be a divide. It’s music, and it’s innocent.”

Rihanna & Chris Brown to reunite on American Idol?

Could we be seeing a Rihanna/Chris Brown duet on American Idol?

E! News reports Idol producers are in talks with the controversial pair about possibly performing together on the show this season, according to a source close to the situation.

"They want Chris and Rihanna to reunite on the show," the insider says.

If they were to duet on Idol, it would be their first public appearance together (on purpose, at the same time), let alone their first live collaboration, since early 2009, when Brown was arrested for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

The pair have just reunited on record: each appears as a guest on the other’s current singles – Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake” remix and Brown’s “Turn Up The Music.”

Chris Brown accused of stealing woman’s phone

Chris Brown has been making headlines since his recent appearance on the Grammy Awards.

Great debate amongst media and fans ensued after Brown returned to the music awards event, three years after he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of the industry affair.

Next, he is reunited on record with Rihanna, encouraging more headlines and debate.

Now, Brown is accused of stealing a fan’s phone.

Billboard reports Brown is under investigation for allegedly swiping a female fan's phone out of her hands and driving away after leaving a nightclub in South Florida on Sunday (Feb. 19), Miami Beach police told NBC 6 Miami.

"B--ch you ain't going to put that on no website," Brown reportedly told 24-year-old Miami resident Christal Spann after she approached and took a photo of Brown and rapper Tyga as they were getting into a black Bentley outside club Cameo. Spann told police that Brown opened his window, took her $500 white iPhone 4S and drove away.

Police responded around 4:40 a.m. but Brown is believed to have left the Miami area already. It is unclear if Brown, who performed at the American Airlines Arena on Feb. 16, is still in possession of the phone. The state attorney's office is reportedly preparing an arrest warrant and police have listed the offense as "robbery by sudden snatching."

Tyga has not been implicated. Brown has not commented on the accusations.

The "Turn Up the Music" singer is currently serving five years of probation after pleading guilty to the brutal assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Earlier this month a judge in Los Angeles praised Brown for his good behavior, but decided he should continue reporting to a probation officer in Virginia.

Chris Brown collaboration was Rihanna’s idea

The Chris Brown collaboration with Rihanna on the remix of her single, “Birthday Cake,” was Rihanna’s idea, according to its songwriter.

The-Dream remembers first getting the call from Rihanna while driving in Miami. "I think I'm gonna put Chris on it," MTV reports the songwriter remembers Rihanna saying to him over the phone nonchalantly. "I don't know which Chris you talkin' about, [but] OK, cool, whatever you say," The Dream remembers responding.

Of course there is really only one Chris, and The-Dream came to grips with the reality that the two would be coming together in song after the damaging 2009 assault that left Rihanna battered and bruised and Brown public enemy #1.

"She's pretty smart too. The same questions that went through my mind, and I'm an artist also, had to have gone through hers," The-Dream told "RapFix Live." "When she raised the question to me, I know she's not crazy. So my thought was you've been thinking about this, you've already thought it out, so evidently you know what reaction you gonna get."

The singer/songwriter said that he was just happy that she gave him enough forewarning that he too could prepare for any type of backlash. Still, despite the rumblings of whether or not Rihanna is sending the right message collaborating with Chris on "Birthday Cake" as well as Brown's "Turn Up the Music" remix, The-Dream says that it all boils down to forgiveness. "Don't say you know how to forgive when you don't," he warned. "Everybody knows what took place, cool. Have the power to really forgive if that's what it is, if not stay on that side of the fence from the beginning."

"At the end of the day, she's my friend, so whatever she wants to do is whatever she wants to do," The-Dream added.

Rihanna and Chris Brown are making major headlines these days as rumors continue to swirl that the two have reunited as a couple.

Rihanna celebrated her 24th birthday in Los Angeles and Brown reportedly snuck into the party.

The pair were together years ago until Brown was convicted of felony assault for beating Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards; Brown’s recent appearance at this year’s event raised eyebrows and concerns that the music industry had brushed aside the troubled singer’s past.

Many media outlets are also suggesting Rihanna should be speaking out against violence in the wake of her time with Brown, rather than reconnecting with the troubled singer, amid discussions over Rihanna’s influence as a role model for your women.

Now, more headlines are being made as Rihanna and Brown have teamed up on a remix of "Birthday Cake" from Rihanna’s latest album, “Talk That Talk.”
