VIDEO: Kool & The Gang perform with Jewel on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Kool & The Gang teamed up with Jewel for a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday.

The latest installment of the ABC-TV late night program’s “Mash-Up Mondays” feature saw the pairing deliver a medley of the band’s hits under the banner of “Jewel & The Gang.”

The performance included snippets of "Hollywood Swinging," "Ladies’ Night" and "Celebration."

Formed as The Jazziacs in Jersey City, NJ in 1964, Kool & The Gang released their self-titled debut album in 1969.

The funk, soul and R&B band began a string of US hits with 1973’s “Funky Stuff”, while “Jungle Boogie” reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and “Hollywood Swinging” peaked at No. 6 the following year.

Kool & The Gang brought a smoother sound to the late-70’s disco-era and delivered hits like “Ladies’ Night” and the 1980 No. 1 smash “Celebration.”

Singer/songwriter Jewel released her latest album, “Picking Up The Pieces”, in September.
