Adele: Hello video makes biggest YouTube debut of 2015

Adele’s video for her new single, “Hello”, has earned more than 100 million views on YouTube just five days after its release.

YouTube calls it "a milestone it takes most major music videos months to achieve," according to Billboard.

"Hello" reached the 100 million mark faster than any other song in 2015 and reached the tally faster than every other video in history with one exception - Psy's "Gentleman," which reached 100 million YouTube views in just four days in 2013.

At press time, “Hello” had been viewed more than 133 million times in its sixth day online.

The tune is the lead single from Adele’s long-awaited third album, “25”, which was produced by Greg Kurstin and is due November 20.

The UK singer’s last album, 2011’s “21”, was a worldwide smash with sales of more than 30 million copies across the globe. The record was the biggest selling musical release for both 2011 and 2012.

Adele will launch “25” with a performance on NBC-TV’s Saturday Night Live on November 21.

VIDEO: Taylor Swift shares acoustic Out Of The Woods performance

Taylor Swift is sharing a stripped-down performance of her “1989” track, “Out Of The Woods”, as she marks the 1-year anniversary of the album’s release.

The singer delivered the tune during a private 7-song mini-concert at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on September 30 to celebrate the attendance record of the exhibit The Taylor Swift Experience.

“I’m going to play you a song,” introduced Swift, “that I wrote about a relationship that I was in that the number one feeling I felt in the whole relationship was anxiety, because it felt very fragile, it felt very tentative. And it always felt like, ‘Okay what’s the next roadblock? What’s the next thing that’s gonna deter this? How long do we have before this turns into just an awful mess and we break up — is it a month, is it three days?’”

“And so I think a lot of relationships can be very solid and that’s kind of what you hope for — solid and healthy — but that’s not always what you get. And it doesn’t mean that it’s not special and extraordinary just to have a relationship that’s fragile and somehow meaningful in that fragility.”

Swift wraps up the North American leg of her 1989 world tour in Miami on October 31 before heading to the Far East for shows next month in Singapore, China and Australia.

Adele to launch 25 album on Saturday Night Live

Adele will launch her third album, “25”, with a performance on NBC-TV’s Saturday Night Live on November 21.

The singer will mark her first return to the late night program since 2008 as the musical guest alongside host Matthew McConaughey.

The national US TV appearance comes the day after the UK pop singing sensation releases “25” on November 20.

Produced by Greg Kurstin, the follow-up to 2011’s smash “21” is being previewed with the lead single, “Hello.”

“21” was a worldwide smash: led by five singles, it has sold more than 30 million copies across the globe and – as the biggest selling musical release for both 2011 and 2012 – it has been credited with helping revitalize lagging sales of the both the US and UK music industries.

Adele announces 25 album and releases Hello single

UK pop singing sensation Adele will release her long-awaited third album, “25”, on November 20.

Produced by Greg Kurstin, the follow-up to 2011’s smash “21” is being previewed with the lead single, “Hello.”

“My last record was a break-up record,” says Adele, “and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. But I haven’t got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What’s done is done.

“Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties. Teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully-fledged adult, I made the decision to go into becoming who I’m going to be forever without a removal van full of my old junk. I miss everything about my past, the good and the bad, but only because it won’t come back.”

“25 is about getting to know who I’ve become without realizing,” she adds, “And I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened.”

The life that happened includes Adele’s son, Angelo, who was born in 2012 to the singer and her boyfriend Simon Konecki. That same year, the singer also issued the title track to the James Bond film, “Skyfall.”

Adele has returned with a bang, as the video for “Hello” has already been viewed more than 63 million times in its first three days online, while the single is destined for a US No. 1 debut based on opened weekend sales.
