popmusiclife: RUMOR: Nicki Minaj joining American Idol

Rumors continue to swirl about who will fill the judging panel at American Idol.

With several names still being thrown around, US Weekly reports sources tell them that Nicki Minaj will join previously announced judge Mariah Carey.

The paper says Minaj still has contracts to sign, but that the singer will be on board for Season 12.

Speculation also continues about resident judge Randy Jackson’s status, with rumors that he will fill a mentoring role on the series and no longer be a part of the panel.

Minaj is currently in the UK for the start of a series of European dates in support of her latest album, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.” The singer was forced to cancel two weekend slots at the V Festival due to an injury to her vocal chords.
