Courtney Love snaps over Lana Del Rey’s Nirvana cover

Lana Del Rey performed a cover of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” during a recent show in Sydney, Australia.

Video of Del Rey’s version has been online for a few days and, on Monday, Courtney Love fired off some strange and nasty tweets to the pop singer.

“@LanaDelRey you do know the song is about my Vagina right? throw down your umbilical noose so i can climb right back umm,” wrote Love in her first note.

Continuing to ramble, Courtney tweeted, “@LanaDelRey on top of which some of the lyrics about my vagina i contributed,” followed by “@LanaDelRey so umm next time you sing it, think about my vagina will you? lol xc”

Love’s tweets were eventually deleted from her twitter feed.

“Heart-Shaped Box” was the first single from Nirvana’s 1993 album, “In Utero.” The song is credited to Kurt Cobain, so it’s unclear why Courtney feels that she helped write the lyrics to the track.

There appears to have been no reply from Del Rey in response to Love’s notes.
