Adele bumped from top spot on US charts

Adele has owned the top spot on the US album charts for some time.

Last week, the UK singer’s “21” marked its 23rd non-consecutive week on the Billboard 200 to become the longest-running #1 since Prince & the Revolution's "Purple Rain" soundtrack scored 24 weeks on top in 1984 and 1985.

This week, though, Adele slipped to second place behind “Wrecking Ball,” the new album by Bruce Springsteen.

But it was a close race.

Billboard reports that, with sales of 196,000, Springsteen just barely outsold Adele (195,000) to move her to the #2 slot.
