Florence And The Machine score first UK #1 single

Florence + The Machine have reason to celebrate as the band scores their first-ever UK #1 single.

A new remix of “Spectrum (Say My Name)” by Calvin Harris tops the UK chart this week, according to the Official Charts Company.

The group have enjoyed two Number 1 albums - 2009’s “Lungs” and last year’s “Ceremonials” - but have previously only landed a single as high as #5; that was 2009’s “You’ve Got The Love.”

Florence and company bounced Maroon 5’s “Payphone” out of top spot this week, sliding it to #2, while Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am holds firm at Number 3 with “This Is Love.”

“Woooooooo! We did it! NO 1!!!! Thank you Calvin Harris and everyone who made this happen! #flowsareshining! #fanpower!,” posted Florence after the news broke. “Really couldn't have done this without you Flows..FATM army, flombies, flombles, and EVERYONE who supported #SpectrumNumberOne xxx”
