Alanis Morissette announces North American tour

Alanis Morissette returns to action with a new album, “Havoc and Bright Lights,” on August 28.

Three days earlier, the singer will kick off the Guardian Angel Tour 2012 on August 25th in Montclair, NJ.

Alanis’ new stage show will feature songs off her forthcoming album, including the current single, "Guardian," as well as classics from her acclaimed previous releases.

Tickets for the general public will go on sale Friday, August 17th and Saturday, August 18th at Ticketmaster.com starting at 10:00am local time. Check your local ticket provider for details.

"The songs from the last 17 years are blending together like great friends,” says Alanis. “Thankfully, there is a timelessness in their content and passion, for me! The show covers the gamut of every chord choice and every emotion I have ever felt. I am spent afterwards, happily so. I am thrilled to be able to play and tour with my family, blending my personal and artistic fulfillment into one sweaty, feisty, expressed, communal traveling circus! I look forward to connecting with everyone face to face, as well as through the many social networks of this exciting new climate."
