Lana Del Rey tops iTunes charts in 14 countries


Lana Del Rey’s “Born To Die” was released Monday, and it’s already a global smash.

Billboard.biz reports Del Rey's highly anticipated - and hotly debated - debut album had a stellar first day.

“Born To Die” topped the iTunes chart in 14 countries, the U.S., U.K., Italy, France, Germany, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Greece, Belgium, Portugal, Mexico, and Luxemburg, according to the singer's representatives.

11,000 fans clicked "like" on Lana’s Monday morning Facebook status, which read: "Thank you for making the record #1 in 11 countries. Your sweet words have softened the effect of even the harshest reviews. I adore you."
