One Direction expected to debut at top of US charts

One Direction are expected to debut atop the US charts next week with their sophomore album, “Take Me Home.”

Billboard reports industry sources are forecasting the album could sell over 500,000 copies by week's end on Sunday.

If the estimate is correct, “Take Me Home” could be the third-largest sales week of 2012, after Taylor Swift's “Red” debuted with 1.2 million in sales, and Mumford & Sons' 600,000-unit launch with "Babel."

The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, November 21.

"Take Me Home" is One D’s second album, and follows its chart-topper "Up All Night," which marked the first time a U.K. group's debut album bowed at No. 1 in the history of the chart.
