Adele’s ‘21’ hits 15th week at top of U.S. charts

The Adele powerhouse keeps rolling.

The UK singer’s sophomore release, “21,” stays at #1 on the new Billboard Hot 200, marking its 15th week at the top of the influential U.S. chart.

Billboard reports "21" sold 124,000 copies in the past week, according to Nielsen SoundScan (down 14% from the previous week).

Adele’s disc is the only album to sell more than 100,000 this week, as the No. 2 set - Drake's "Take Care" – sells 42,000 (down 41%).

The last album to spend more weeks at Billboard #1 was the soundtrack to "Titanic," which reached 16 weeks atop the list in 1998.

Billboard is projecting that “21” will likely stay at #1 next week, due to the small number of albums that were released this week.

Adele is up for 6 Grammys next month and is rumored to be in talks to perform at the event, as she continues to recover from her vocal cord surgery last November.
