Kylie Minogue has begun recording her 12th studio album.

“‘I have started on new music already. It should be ready for 2013,” Kylie told Metro UK.

For the new project, Minogue says she’s teaming up with some key personnel. “It’s a few different people,” she said, refusing to name names but promising fans her new offering is “really exciting and different.”

Next, Kylie heads home as the next part of her K25 celebrations to play her first Sydney Mardi Gras in 14 years.

“There are a few things coming up,” she said. “Mardi Gras will be such a great opportunity to thank that community for their support for so many years.”
