Cher and Lady Gaga duet due this fall

“The Greatest Thing,” the long-awaited duet featuring Cher and Lady Gaga, is due this fall.

Highly active tweeter Cher posted the news, writing: “Finished Song!I LOVE IT! Cant tell names of songs cause Record CO. gave Strict ORDERS ! THINK 1st Single drops Oct. then cd near Xmas”

“The Greatest Thing” was written by Gaga herself.

“I wrote that song a long time ago, and I’ve never put it on one of my own albums, for really no particular reason,” she told MTV. “I always write these concept records, and it just didn’t fit in. But it’s always been this big, massive, beautiful hit record and everyone always says, ‘Why don’t you put that on your album?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, it just doesn’t fit with everything else.’”

Cher was beaming about Gaga’s skills, tweeting, “think ALL SONGS R Great so Far& I'm not Big Fan!GREAT Writers!GAGA IS MAJOR&Her VOCAL IS AMAZING!KUK Heard TGTLast nite 4 1st Time & FREAKED”

Cher did not specifically say the Gaga duet would be the lead single, so we’ll stay tuned to see what’s next from the music icons.
