NEW VIDEO: Dia Frampton – The Broken Ones

The first video from Dia Frampton is out.

Dia was the runner up on the first US season of The Voice, a reality singing contest based on The Voice Of Holland.

The US program featured singers selected, and mentored, by the show’s four judges: Adam Levine from Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton.

Frampton was guided by Shelton and, throughout the series, she displayed a unique voice and vocal style that set her apart from many in the TV competition.

Despite Javier Colon taking first prize, it was Dia’s original tune, “Inventing Shadows,” that quickly topped the iTunes chart around the series finale in June.

Pior to appearing on The Voice, Frampton was a part of Meg & Dia, an alternative indie act featuring her older sister; they released two albums and toured extensively, including three summers on The Warped Tour. After two indie releases, Meg & Dia signed with Warner Brothers for their third album, “Here, Here and Here,” which came out in April of 2009. Eventually the label dropped them and Meg & Dia issued a fourth record, “Cocoon,” in April 2011, as an inide once again…just around the time Dia began her journey on The Voice.

Now, Frampton has issued “The Broken Ones,” the first track from her debut solo album, “Red,” which is due December 6.

The folk pop singer will also open for Shelton on his “Well Lit and Amplified Tour 2012” starting in January.

Look for sister Meg in the video, first sitting on the ground watching Dia at the piano and, later, playing acoustic guitar.
