Adam Lambert has released a lyric video for “Ghost Town”, the lead single from his forthcoming album, “The Original High.”

Due June 16 in North America, Lambert’s third solo release was record in Stockholm, Sweden and Los Angeles with Max Martin and Shellback as executive producers.

“The Original High” is Lambert’s first album for Warner Brothers Records following a split with his old label, RCA Records, whom he left in 2013.

Lambert will rejoin Queen later this year for a fall tour of South America.

Queen’s appearance marks the band’s return after opening the inaugural event in 1985 with original lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Queen and Adam Lambert expand South American tour

Queen and Adam Lambert have added two shows to their fall tour of South America.

In addition to headlining the opening night of Rock in Rio on September 18, the band will also perform in São Paulo (Ibirapuera Arena) on September 16 and Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sol (Gigantinho Arena) on September 21.

“We’re Back! Rockin’ in Brazil!,” says guitarist Brian May. “Can’t wait! See ya there, guys!!”

"I'm so excited to be joining Queen for these dates,” adds Lambert. “This will be a triumphant return for them, and my FIRST time in South America!"

Ticket details will be announced soon and further Latin America dates are expected to be scheduled.

Part of Rock In Rio’s 30th anniversary series, Queen’s appearance marks the band’s return after opening the inaugural event in 1985 with original lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Queen’s opening night on January 11, 1985 at Rio’s custom built City of Rock exploded the record books, drawing an audience of over 250,000. The band’s second appearance on January 18 brought their total Rock in Rio audience beyond 500,000.

Televised to over 60 countries across the world, Queen’s shows were watched by nearly 200 million people. Queen albums occupied all top ten places in the Brazilian album chart and “Love Of My Life” became a new Brazilian anthem.

Queen and Adam Lambert looking forward to North American tour

Queen and Adam Lambert announced a 19-date summer tour of North America on Thursday in New York, and now the group are sharing their thoughts on the upcoming trek, which begins June 19 in Chicago.

Queen have previously toured Europe with Lambert, the former American Idol contestant, and played the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas last fall, but the 2014 run will give many fans their first chance to see the band for the first time.

“We were very conscious of that in making this decision,” guitarist Brian May tells Rolling Stone. “This is the closest that you'll ever get to see Queen as it was in our golden days, but it's not a reproduction. It's not an imitation. We're here live and real and we have a great singer. They'll be a lot of newness about this. I think that's very exciting. It'll be loud and dangerous and all the things that people used to look for in us.”

“I think the thing that's really special is that this is the real deal. This is live,” adds Lambert. “In today's music world, you go to a concert and you're getting a lot of playbacks. There's click tracks. It is what it is. I'm not hating on it. But this is the real deal. This is pure. We're not playing to a click. We're not playing to tracks. This is all live instruments. I'm singing all the vocals with these guys on vocals. It's purely organic. I think in today's day and age, it's very exciting for an audience to see something that has that much heart.”

Things have come full circle for Lambert, who auditioned for American Idol five years ago by singing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You."

Asked when they first saw Adam perform, drummer Roger Taylor explains: “A musician friend of mine in America was like, ‘You've gotta check out this guy on Idol.’ So we Googled [him]. His voice was phenomenal. I was just like, ‘Wow.’ I said [he]had this sort of slight Elvis look going on. I just thought, ‘Wow, what a voice! Those octaves!’ That was my first impression. It was just like anybody else hearing about someone with an extraordinary talent.”

“When you see Adam, you see a performer,” adds May. “He's performing from his heart. He's interpreting the song. I never had any question that he's the real thing. It's a rare thing to find someone with that much talent and the instrument to put it forward.”

Tickets for the Queen + Adam Lambert tour will go on sale beginning Friday, March 14 through the Live Nation mobile app and at Livenation.com.

American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Monday, March 10 at 10am local time in the USA and Tuesday March 11th at 10am local time in Canada.

Queen and Adam Lambert to make announcement next week

Queen and Adam Lambert will make an announcement at a scheduled press event at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday, March 6.

Based on recent comments by guitarist Brian May, it is anticipated that the pairing will formally announce a series of US concert dates for this summer.

"We've been talking to Adam Lambert, you know we've already done some gigs with Adam, who is amazing," May recently told BBC Radio 2 host Steve Wright. “We are ongoing, we can't help it. I think we all protested too much in the sense when Freddie went and we didn't want to talk about it and didn't want to be Queen for a while."

"But after a while,” he continued, “you realize that people wanna hear the songs and see us do things. So, no matter what you call it, Roger and I do do stuff, and I think we'll be doing some more stuff this summer in fact, probably in the States."

Queen have previously toured Europe with Lambert, the former American Idol contestant, and played the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas last fall.

Adam Lambert released his sophomore album, “Trespassing,” this week.

Lambert has described the album, which he executive produced, as "an exciting journey through the past two years of my life. It's been a transformative period and I really wanted to make music from what I've experienced. All these songs honestly explore the ups and downs of my reality."

As part of the promotion of the project, Adam teamed up with music industry magazine Billboard for a live Q&A session on Monday.

Lambert had plenty to talk about, from the new album to touring, his upcoming shows with Queen, to some of his performance rituals.

On Thursday (17), Adam returns to American Idol to play his new single, “Never Close Our Eyes.”

Queen + Adam Lambert announce third London show

Queen have announced that they will add a third London concert with Adam Lambert at HMV Hammersmith Apollo in July.

The band’s two dates at the venue - July 11 and 12 - hastily added after the cancellation of Sonisphere, sold out instantly.

Promoter Paul Roberts confirmed the two earlier London shows sold out ‘within minutes’.

Queen + Adam Lambert’s third date will take place Saturday, July 14. Tickets go on sale on at 9.00am on Monday, May 14.

The added London date will be the final show of five dates Queen and Adam Lambert will play together this summer. In addition to the Hammersmith shows, Queen and Lambert will also appear at Moscow Sports Arena (July 3) and at The Municipal Stadium, Wroclaw, Poland (July 7).

Speaking at the time of making the announcement, Brian May said: “Adam has an extraordinary voice - no two ways about it. So we’ll be exploring new ways to do things. So it will be exciting!”

Last week, Roger Taylor described the collaboration with Lambert as "fireworks."

Lambert ‘s sophomore album, “Trespassing,” is due May 15; the new single is "Never Close Our Eyes."

Adam Lambert to play four shows with Queen

Queen have confirmed that they’ll be playing four shows this summer with Adam Lambert fronting the legendary group.

Billboard reports that, despite the recent cancellation of the combo’s appearance at Sonisphere UK, an event that was shut down, the Queen + Lambert lineup will play a June 30 show in Moscow, and also play on a bill with Elton John in Kiev, as well as do two early July shows at the Hammersmith Apollo to provide "some alternative... for some of the people who had bought tickets" to Sonisphere.

Details for the other three dates will be announced soon.

"We're really excited about it," says Queen drummer Roger Taylor. "Adam... of course he has this unbelievable range, like Freddie (Mercury) had range. Adam can really cover it. He's an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality."

As for doing more with Lambert, Taylor says that "we're just going to see what happens, how well it goes, how we get on." He does acknowledge, however, that he and May have been approached to be part of the Summer Olympics closing ceremonies in London but adds that "I don't think we're meant to say too much about it yet."

Adam previously performed with Queen at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards, and on the 2009 American Idol finale, along with Kris Allen.

Lambert will release his sophomore album, “Trespassing,” on May 15. His first single, "Better Than I Know Myself," is out now.
