VIDEO: Lady Gaga launches Born This Way Ball tour in South Korea

Lady Gaga kicked off her Born This Way Ball tour in Seoul, South Korea Friday night.

MSN Malaysia reports Gaga wowed tens of thousands of fans at the opening show of her global tour with signature flamboyant outfits and a provocative performance.

The star dazzled some 50,000 fans at the Olympic stadium in Seoul, with the audience wearing paper bracelets reading "18 above" issued by organizers in response to Seoul’s anti-freedom of speech government banning under-18s attending.

Gaga rode onto the stage on horseback, wearing a glittering black bodysuit and an enormous black metal headpiece as screaming fans waved thousands of glowing sticks and chanted her name.

"I was told that your government decided that my shows should be 18 or over... So, I'll make sure it will be!" Lady Gaga shouted, to cheers from the crowd.

The show included throwing dancers and herself into a giant fake meat grinder and staging scenes of machine gun fire and simulated group and lesbian sex.

The pop superstar belted out more than 20 hits in a 100-minute show on a stage featuring a castle-shaped structure topped with an illuminated cross.

The Wanted are the latest UK pop sensations to hit America.

The band’s self-titled EP and its smash single, “Glad You Came,” are both on the US charts while the band continues to attract fans.

Earlier this week, The Wanted took over the FUSE studios for an interview and live performance before a packed house.

One of the things the guys discussed was the topic of being labeled a ‘boy band.’

“That is what we are,” said Jay McGuiness. “We’re not a rock band. We don’t play rock music. Some people think that [a boy band] means you lip sync or dance incredibly well. We do none of those.”

Rihanna responds to marijuana controversy

Reports and photos of Rihanna smoking pot at the Coachella festival last weekend have made some headlines for the pop singer.

Billboard reports the headlines have forced Rihanna to respond.

On Thursday, the uptight folks at MTV tweeted "Yikes. @Rihanna's marijuana photos from Coachella spark controversy," posting shots from the singer's Instagram feed and drawing a barbed response from Rihanna herself.

"@MTV Yikes… @rihanna ran out of f***s to give,"
she tweeted back.

MTV has since deleted its tweet, though the story remains posted.

"I'm crazy, and I don't pretend to be anything else," Rihanna tweeted on Tuesday, in response to fans concerned by the photos.

Perhaps she was drawing inspiration from past artists: on Wednesday, Rihanna took to her Twitter page to advise fans to see the new Bob Marley documentary, "Marley."

"Bob Marley is my HERO #thatisall," she added, of the noted reggae icon and marijuana aficionado.

The singer’s Coachella photos aren’t the only ones that have made headlines for the pop superstar; in January, Rihanna was caught on film enjoying some herb while on vacation in Hawaii.

Britney Spears to become X Factor judge

Gossip site TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears and "X Factor" have struck a $15 million deal for next season.

Sources tell TMZ that Britney's team and "X Factor" big wigs are working out "the fine points" of the deal, but the major terms are locked.

Once the final contract is drafted and signed ... it will go to Jamie Spears, Britney's father and conservator, as well as lawyers for the conservatorship. If they sign off, it must then go to the judge who oversees the conservatorship for approval.

Simon Cowell, the "X Factor" Executive Producer, told TMZ Live Tuesday, "I would love to have her on the show. I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to."

Simon said they may make an announcement within a week.
