VIDEO: Madonna interviewed on The Tonight Show

Madonna stopped by The Tonight Show on Monday for an interview with Jay Leno.

Just days away from her Super Bowl halftime performance – typically one of the most-watched music events of the year - the singer admits that she's feeling some nerves.

"It's the most nerve-wracking thing I've ever done," Madonna admitted. "The Super Bowl is the holy of holies. It's like the sacred show of America. And I have to go on in the middle of that holy of holies and put on the greatest show that was ever put on before. That's no pressure."

There isn’t going to be much time or opportunity for rehearsal on site in Indianapolis on game day. “They're playing football all day, so I don't really have time to do a sound check,” said the pop icon. “It's a little bit like a circus act: Get in there, roll out my carpet, put on my show and get the eff off," she joked.

The 2012 Super Bowl takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 5. Kick-off time is 6:30 PM ET.

Adele confirms Grammy performance

After months of speculation, Adele has confirmed her live singing return will happen on the Grammys.

"I'm immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year's Grammy Awards," said Adele in a statement. "It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night, and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all."

“Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can't wait, speak soon xx” the singer tweeted on Tuesday.

In November, Adele went under the knife to have vocal chord microsurgery in Boston, in order to stop recurrent bleeding from a benign polyp. Her condition had forced her to cancel all of her remaining live dates of 2011, as she scrapped 10 scheduled dates in North America and six shows in the UK in order to have the surgery.

The two-time Grammy winner is nominated for six awards this year, including Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year.

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast by CBS on Sunday, February 12 at 8:00 PM EST from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The singer makes her UK live comeback at the 2012 Brit Awards ceremony on February 21 at London's O2 Arena.

Justin Bieber to host Saturday Night Live

Billboard reports Alec Baldwin has leaked news of Justin Bieber hosting Saturday Night Live later this spring.

On Monday's episode of Baldwin's "Here's The Thing" podcast on WNYC, the "30 Rock" actor delves in deep with SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels, and in the process, reveals that Bieber will host the show in the upcoming months.

Setting the scene at Michaels' office, Baldwin reads off some of the names that appear on a board of confirmed SNL hosts this season. Among them is the Justin, who previously served as the musical guest in April 2010 (and popped by for a Church Lady skit and a digital short last February) but has never hosted the show.

Michaels confirms Baldwin's announcement with a yes, 26 minutes into the podcast.

"The biggest names in the business are coming here thirty-something years [after 'SNL's debut] to host the show,” says Bladwin. Ben Stiller, Melissa McCarthy, [who] won the Emmy award, and Katy Perry's coming and Jimmy Fallon, who's double-dipping on your payroll, Jonah Hill, and I don't want to ruin any other names, [but] Bieber's confirmed, he's the music and the [host]."

If this is true (NBC has not yet confirmed), Bieber will follow in the footsteps of fellow pop star host Katy Perry, who took the comedy reigns this past December.

Following the success of his holiday album, “Under The Mistletoe,” Bieber is currently in the studio working on his next record, “Believe.”

Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger & Steve Jones gone from X Factor

The team at the US version of The X Factor cleaned house on Monday.

Judges Paul Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones are all gone.

E Online broke most of the news on Monday, while Jones tweeted his announcement.

“I won’t be hosting next season’s X Factor, which is a shame but I can’t complain as I've had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show,” posted the former host.

As for Cowell’s longtime pal Paula Abdul, "She found out today," a show source tells E Online. "At this point, the only ones staying are Simon [Cowell] and L.A. Reid."

Another source confirms to E! News that both Paula and Nicole were not renewed, "Simon wants to take the show in a different direction," says the insider.

The second season of X Factor is set to debut later this year.

M.I.A. confirms Super Bowl gig with Madonna and Nicki Minaj

The Super Bowl Halftime Show with Madonna is ON.

NME reports M.I.A. has confirmed that she and Nicki Minaj will perform with the pop legend on Sunday in Indianapolis.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on his BBC Radio 1 show Monday evening, the UK rapper and singer said of the iconic American football event's musical interlude: "Yes, I'm going to the Super Bowl… I'm gonna be performing with Madonna and Nicki Minaj... If you're gonna go to the Super Bowl, you might as well go with America's biggest female icons."

Cee Lo Green is also expected to be a part of Sunday’s show.

MIA and Minaj both feature on Madonna's forthcoming single, 'Give Me All Your Luvin', which is set for release on February 3.

It's the first single to be taken from Madonna's forthcoming album, 'MDNA', which is out on March 26.

Like all halftime headliners, Madonna will have just 12 minutes for her Super Bowl show, traditionally one of the most watched television events of the year.

Pussycat Dolls to debut new lineup in Super Bowl ad

The Pussycat Dolls will unveil their new lineup in an ad appearing during Sunday’s Super Bowl.

MTV reports PCD creator Robin Antin and a newly instated Doll, Lauren Bennett, stopped by MTV to chat about the Go Daddy commercial that will launch the latest phase of all things PCD.

So, what should fans expect?

In the ad, Antin said, "The girls are on the Go Daddy cloud. They're angels in heaven, and they're very angelic. It's breathtakingly beautiful. It's a fun, real-campy kind of sexy. It's all of that, but again, what we're doing for this next life of the Pussycat Dolls, the girls are all young. It's a fresh, young energy. I want to appeal to our young fans."

Despite a lineup leak in early 2010, the new, official lineup now stands as Bennett (who you might remember from Antin's other group, Paradiso Girls, as well as the LMFAO track "Party Rock Anthem") along with Chrystina Sayers from Girlicious.

More will be revealed Sunday in the shorter on-air version of the commercial, as well as the extended version that will go online after the ad debuts.

"The dancing is spectacular. Everyone is amazing," Antin said. "It's the exact right recipe for the new Pussycat Dolls. We just did the Go Daddy commercial, Super Bowl spot — really excited about it. It's sexy and all that. It's a quick look for people to see the girls together for the first time."

VIDEO: Christina Aguilera sings at Etta James’ funeral

Christina Aguilera paid tribute to her favorite singer, Etta James, at the blues great’s funeral in Los Angeles on Saturday.

NME reports Aguilera performed a moving version of James' classic single, “At Last.”

“It is an amazing honour for me to have been welcomed here today, invited here to pay tribute to the great Miss Etta James,” said Christina as she introduced the song. “I've since I've been able to tour, I've gone round the whole wide world and I would tell people that Miss Etta James was my favourite singer.”

“It's very emotional for me to sing today, as this has meant so much to me,”
she continued. “All my life, I've aspired to sing like Etta James, to be like her, of all the singers I've ever heard, she was the one who cut right to my soul.”

James passed away January 20 at the age of 73; she had been suffering from terminal leukemia, kidney disease, hepatitis C and dementia.

The singer was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1993 and received six Grammy awards; she released 30 albums during her career.

Spice Girls to reunite this year?

There may be a Spice Girls reunion this year.

UK tabloid The Sun reports Mel B has revealed the pop group are to reunite for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee at Buckingham Palace on June 4 in front of the Royal Family.

Mel B revealed the plans during an interview on Australian TV — when she was asked if the Spices will reform for the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.

Mel smiled and replied: "Ooh, I think the Queen's Jubilee concert is the event I'd be looking at more closely for that to happen."

Mel — who was Scary Spice in the band — reportedly told the TV crew off-air: "I am going to be in such strife for saying that. It's all so totally bloody top-secret still."

The line-up for the show has yet to be announced, but the public will be able to get tickets to watch it in the palace grounds through a public ballot.

ABBA to release first new song in 18 years

This spring, ABBA are releasing their first new song in 18 years.

The Guardian reports the Swedish pop supergroup will release a previously unheard track, “From A Twinkling Star To A Passing Angel,” recorded in 1981.

The song will be included on the forthcoming reissue of “The Visitors,” due April 23. This was Abba's final studio album, including the singles “One of Us” and “Head Over Heels.”

“From a Twinkling Star…” was intended for that final record, but although the group recorded a "demo medley" version, they decided to not issue it at that time.

The last time ABBA fans were treated to new material was the 1994 box set “Thank You For The Music.”

Despite years of rumors, ABBA's leaders, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, have remained staunchly opposed to a reunion.

"We would like people to remember us as we were," Ulvaeus said in 2008. "Young, exuberant, full of energy and ambition." They did not responded publicly to last year's suggestion by bandmate Agnetha Fältskog that the group "meet, chat about the old days and perhaps perform together."

"The Visitors" reissue will include one CD of bonus songs and a DVD of rare video, including footage of ABBA on the BBC's The Late Late Breakfast Show.

RUMOR: Cee Lo Green to join Madonna at Super Bowl

Madonna’s been tight-lipped about her upcoming Super Bowl halftime show performance, but others have been sharing news about it.

will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas told Capital FM that LMFAO will be joining the pop icon on center stage.

Now, The Insider reports sources are telling them that The Voice coach Cee Lo Green is on board, as well.

“We're told, for the past two weeks, Cee Lo has been traveling to New York to practice with Madonna. And he is expected to bring a new sound to some of Madonna's classic hits!” says the site.

One of the most-watched musical shows of the year may be full of entertainers, as it’s expected that both Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. will be there...as they feature on Madonna's new single “Gimme All Yer Luvin’.”

The 2012 Super Bowl takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 5.

Stay tuned!

LMFAO to join Madonna at Super Bowl

Black Eyed Peas leader will.i.am has let some news slip about Madonna’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.

"I'm going to the Super Bowl this year to see my group LMFAO perform with Madonna," the singer told Capital FM.

The duo, who are signed the Will.i.am Music Group, had been rumored as one of the surprise guests at the event.

Last year, the Peas rocked the halftime show.

"Check that out, Will.i.am Music Group is pretty freaking two for two," said will. "One year the Super Bowl, the next year another group part of the Super Bowl in collaboration with Madonna. That's still happening."

Nicki Minaj and M.I.A have also been linked to Madonna's Half-Time Show performance as they feature on her new single 'Gimme All Yer Luvin'.

But Madonna has so far refused to confirm the acts, only hinting recently that the performance will feature pom-poms.

The 2012 Super Bowl takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 5.

Madonna drops hint about Super Bowl performance

Madonna is only a few weeks away from her 12 minutes on stage as the featured performer for the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show.

12 of the most-watched musical minutes of the year: more than 162 million viewers in the U.S. viewed last year's show.

Madonna is expected to perform her new single, “Gimme All Yer Luvin’,” which drops any day now; her new album, “M.D.N.A.” is due this spring.

The single features Nicki Minaj and MIA, and both are rumored to be joining Madonna for the Super Bowl event.

But the Queen of Pop isn’t giving anything away about the show or any possible guests.

"I am not saying 'Yes,' and I am not saying 'No'", Madonna told MTV at the New York premiere of her film, “W.E.”

The only tease she offered was, "Pom poms. That's all I can tell you."

The 2012 Super Bowl takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 5.

Madonna joins an esteemed list of recent halftime acts that includes The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2.
